Fun Facts about Electricity

Here are some fun facts about electricity that we lower-mainland Electricians thought we would share with you on this beautiful August morning after that big thunder and lightning storm yesterday:

Did you know….

  1. Electricity travels at more than 186,000 miles per second, or 299,340 kilometers per second:  at the speed of light!
  2. One single spark of static electricity can measure up to 2000 volts.
  3. A bolt of lightning lasts less than one second and can measure up to 3,000,000 volts!
  4. Electricity can be made from wind, water and the sun.
